Teresa M.V.D. Pinho e Melo studied Chemistry at the University of Coimbra, where she graduated, got her MSc and her PhD in Organic Chemistry. . She was Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool (1992-1993). She received her Habilitation in Organic Chemistry in 2003. Teresa Pinho e Melo is currently Associate Professor at the University of Coimbra, Group Leaderof the Organic Chemistry Group, Coimbra Chemistry Centre (CQC) and collaborator of iMed.ULisboa and CFisUC. She was President of the Division of Organic Chemistry, Portuguese Chemical Society (2016-2017) and Director of the Department of Chemistry, University of Coimbra (2015-2019). Her research interests are mainly in the area of synthetic and mechanistic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry.
