PhD with aggregation in Art History from the University of Coimbra (2010 and 2019) and Director of the Department of History, European Studies, Archaeology and Arts, Luísa Trindade teaches several courses of the degree in Art History, the Masters in Art and Heritage and the PhD in Heritage of Portuguese Influence (III-CES). Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES) and collaborator at the Centre for History of Society and Culture (UC) and the Institute of Medieval Studies (Nova Lisboa), her main line of research is the late medieval Portuguese city, structure, equipment and experiences, highlighting, in recent years, the study of noble and ordinary housing.
Since March 2022, integrates the project Think big on small border towns: Alto-Alentejo and Alta Extremadura Leon (13th - 16th centuries). FCT: PTDC/HAR-HIS/3024/2020.
The dissemination of Heritage has also constituted a permanent line of action, highlighting among the projects she has coordinated From Rome to Portugal. From Empire to Kingdom: a 1500-year journey through the Territory of Coimbraimplemented between 2018-2021 (with Pedro Carvalho) and involving the 19 municipalities of the Coimbra Region Intermunicipal Community (CIM-Centro) and, during the years 2011 to 2017, the coordination of the project Castelos e Muralhas Medievais do Mondego, involving the municipalities of Coimbra, Penela, Montemor-o-Velho, Pombal, Soure, Miranda do Corvo, Lousã and Figueira da Foz, the Regional Directorate for Culture of the Centre, Tourism of the Centre of Portugal, the Pedro Nunes Institute and the University of Coimbra.
