Helena Pinto is Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of History, European Studies, Archaeology and Arts, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Coimbra. She is lecturing to the 1st year of the Master's Degree in History Teaching in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education.
She is Integrated Researcher at CITCEM - Transdisciplinary Research Centre Culture, Space and Memory, in the "Education and Societal Challenges" Research Group.
She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences (2012) and a Master's degree in Heritage and Tourism (2004) from the University of Minho, and a degree in History - Educational Area (1991) from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. She was granted a PhD scholarship (FCT). History teacher (PQA) and certified trainer by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for In-service Training, in the areas and domains of Specific Didactics (History) and History of Art.
She has been involved as a member/researcher in various international projects, and also supervising and co-supervising master's dissertations, as well as being a jury member for more than four dozens master's dissertations and PhD thesis at Portuguese, Spanish and Brazilian universities. She has published more than five dozen articles in specialised scientific journals and chapters/books.
