The main activity is related with teaching and research at Civil Engineering Department in University of Coimbra. Scientific activity has been centred in the physical and numerical models based on VoF concept in the aim of Hydraulic Structures associated either on Urban Drainage or Fluvial and Coastal Engineering. She teaches/taught Hydraulics and Numerical Methods, to graduate students, Hydraulic Structures, Fluvial and Maritime Hydraulics, Experimental Hydraulics, Computational methods  and other skills to master students and Advances Laboratory Techniques and Scientific Methodology in pH’D courses; supervised several ph’D and master students as well as other young researchers and she has been involved in several national and international research projects. She participated in more than 150 congresses and was involved in more than 30 scientific and review committees of National and International Congresses. She is also reviewer of several International Journals (such as Journal of Hydraulic Research, Journal of Hydraulic Engineering - ASCE, Journal of Hydrology – ASCE and Elsevier, Environment Fluid Mechanics and Water Resources) and has complete more than 90 reviews, she participated in more than 50 juris and published more than 130 papers in National and International Conferences and Journals being more than 40 papers in ISI Web of Knowledge/Web of Science journals. She also participated on several services rendering for Municipality (Coimbra and Barreiro) and cooperate with enterprises such as Saint-Goubain, Coba, EDP and  Matereo.
