Paulo Vila Maior, Assistant Professor with Habilitation in European Studies at the Department of History, European Studies, Archaeology and Arts of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. He is a researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies (CEIS20) of the University of Coimbra.

He is Deputy Director of the Bachelor in European Studies and Erasmus Coordinator for the area of European Studies.

He earned the Habilitation in Economy at the University of Évora, holds a PhD in Contemporary European Studies (University of Sussex), a Master’s Degree in European Integration (Faculty of Law, University of Coimbra) and a First Degree in Law (University Portucalense). He teaches at the level of Under-graduation, Masters’ Degree, and Doctorate for 30 years. 

Recently, he coordinated Module n.º 3 (International Governance: Multilateral Institutions, Norms, Regimes) within the research project “Interdisciplinary Training on EU Security, Resilience and Sustainability (EUSecure) – A Simulation Supported Massive Open Online Course (SimMOOC)” funded by the European Commission. 

He published several books, book chapters and articles in academic journals, in English and Portuguese, on topics that cover his research preferences.
