Sandra Jordão – Professor and researcher at the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Coimbra. The main research areas encompass steel and mixed structures and structural glass, focussing on experimental, numerical and analytical approaches. She is responsible for the subject of Advanced Design of Glass Structures for the advanced training courses at the Structural Mechanics group at Civil Eng. Dep at University of Coimbra. The main contributions are aligned with the targets of the Portuguese structural glass industry, and envisage international contact in terms of advanced training and also the presence in European committees/bodies and workgroups in the referred topics, such us EU COST Action TU0905 “Structural glass”; (Management Committee member),COST Actions TU1403 “Adaptive Facades Network” , (Work group member) and the work group for the preparation of the next Eurocode for glass Structures CEN/TC 250 WG 3 ‘Structural Glass’ into CEN/TC 250 SC 11 (member of the national group). She is a member of the editorial team for the new open access "International Journal of Structural Glass and Advanced Materials Research".
