Dina Sebastião is currently assistant professor of European Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Coimbra, where she teaches in the 1st and 2ndcycles. She  is full member of CEIS20 – Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies, University of Coimbra.

She holds a PhD in European Studies, by the University of Coimbra, and a Master in Contemporary History: Economy, Society and International Relations, with specialization in Portugal and European Integration. She has dedicated her research to the europeanization of Portugal, namely of the political parties, and to the EU policies- Her research is based in an interdisciplinary approach and follows a democratic normative orientation, to question the EU political system and governance. She has been publishing book chapters and papers in peer-reviewed scientific publications. She was awarded the Jacques Delors Award 2017 – from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Portugal, to the best study in European integration themes.  She has held several positions in academic management, like the direction of bachelor, and making part of the coordination team of a research centre CEIS20. She was involved in the restructuring of the 1st cycle in European Studies and the creation of the 2nd cycle in European Studies.
