Paulo Lopes Pinto obtained his undergraduate degree in civil engineering at the University of Porto, Portugal, M.Sc. and Ph.D. at the University of Florida, U.S.A., specializing in Geotechnical Engineering.
He is an Assistant Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Coimbra, Portugal. His main research areas are Soil-Structure Interaction, Soil Dynamics, Foundation Strengthening and Rock Mechanics.
He is member of TC212 – Deep Foundations from ISSMGE and consultant for several private and public institutions.
