Teaching Methods

Students will be exposed to a serie of conferences and lectures by teaching staff member who are coordinating the academic program.  When possible, the teaching activity will be, reinforced with the participation of a guest experienced researcher (not from FCDEF-UC) to ensure the refinement of research ideas.

The evaluation process will culminate in the submission, presentation and public defense of the dissertation.

Learning Outcomes

The students must be able to promote a clear and organized document, based on a well defined research question, a good review of literature, the methodological options, and the results and correspondent discussion. The capacity to make a good delivery of the document and the capacity to anwser properly to the questions during the public defense will be appreciated. At the end, master students are supposed to be able to submit a manuscript for a journal with peer-review.

Syllabus

- Develop a core message of the manuscript considering a central message (20-25 words). All the manuscript must be written to support this core message without progressions for lateral aspects.

- Set the materials and methods, population and the sample, the sampling method, the materials used, and most important, the procedures for the replication study by a potential reader.

- To summarize the question and problem. What was already known before they started the study? Must list the main points related to the question and problem.

- Set the main conclusions and results.

- Describe the findings and implications.
