Learning Outcomes

This course aims to give students knowledge about the existing sensing and actuation systems, comprising all the components, from the terminal devices, through the communication in the network, integrating platforms and advanced aspects related to performance and energy efficiency. Upon successful completion of this course, the student should know existing sensing and actuation systems, understand the operation of communication technologies and protocols and the platforms involved, as well as perceive the performance challenges of these systems. The student should also demonstrate competencies in the critical analysis of the various components of sensing and actuation systems and their impact on data generation and processing.
