Vanessa Tavares holds an Architecture degree by University of Porto (2006) and a Master in Engineering in Energy for Sustainability by University of Coimbra (2015). She was a visiting student at the Materials Systems Laboratory – MIT in 2018. She is a Ph.D student in ADAI/LAETA and the University of Coimbra. Currently, she has as doctoral Fellowship by FCT under the program “MIT Portugal: Sustainable Energy Systems”.
Research areas: Sustainable construction and refurbishment, life cycle assessment of buildings and building components, energy and waste management in buildings, off site construction (prefab architecture), sustainability certification of buildings, circular economy.
