Filipe Araujo (Homepage and ResearchGate) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He received his graduation in Electrical Engineering in 1996 and his M. Sc. in Informatics Engineering in 1999, both from the University of Coimbra. He received his PhD in 2006 from the University of Lisboa. He has been working on distributed systems, including grid and cloud computing for several years.

Right now he is focused on finding the common (design) patterns hidden in fault-tolerant distributed systems. He is also working on HTTP server monitoring, more precisely, on detecting HTTP server problems using client-side observations alone.

He participated in several national and international projects, like the FP6 CoreGrid NoE (FP6-004265), the FP7 EDGeS (contract n. RI-211727) and EDGI (contract n. RI-261556). He was also involved in several research and industrial projects related to parallel and cloud computing, including TRONE: Trustworthy and Resilient Operations in a Network Environment; HPCoLSI: High Performance Computing over the Large-Scale Internet; and Ticketing-as-a-service for the cloud.
