Maria José Marcelino holds a PhD in Informatics Engineering, and is Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI) of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, where she teaches Programming and Simulation courses. Her research interests are focused on Computer Science Education, Modelling and Simulation applied to Education and Distance Learning. She develops research in the Cognitive and Media Systems group of CISUC. She is author/co-author of more than 80 papers in international journals and conferences. She was a member of the coordination team of the Distance Learning Project at the University of Coimbra till september 2021.
