Learning Outcomes

The study of the roots and the economic grounds of EU integration, laying special emphasis on the internal market objective. From that perspective, we will approach the major European economic policies under a double angle: firstly, we will consider the main policy guidelines and look at the way they have evolved over recent years; then, we promote a critical, reflexive analysis of their consistency with economic theory frameworks.

This will allow to learn the objectives of EU economic integration and their economic rationale. Then, with this theoretical structure in mind, students will be able to understand the various EU sectorial economic policies, while also gaining a critical perspective on (at least some of) them an on the coordination of policies.
