Laboratory of Circuits and Simulation; Signals and Systems

Teaching Methods

Theoretical classes with detailed presentation of the concepts, principles and fundamental theories, illustrating also practical solutions. Lab classes using the Matlab/Simulink environment to implement control methodologies for real sistems (e.g., modelling, simulation and control of  a DC motor). The evalution consists of a final exam (60%) and laboratory reports/tests (40%).

Learning Outcomes

Generation of mathematical models of linear time invariante systems. State space analysis. System description in time and frequency domains. Stability and robustness analysis. Design of PID controllers, lead compensators and lag compensators. Short introduction to non-linear control
