This course will function as a seminar, in 2 hour periods. All classes will have a lecture by the teacher and / or the students about texts or other documents previously prepared. All classes will have general discussions about the presentation.
At the end of the semester, students should be able to: treat in a critical way any content of Francophone Cultures; to select and to analyze readings about this subject; to recognize and to describe topoi and cultural representations of francophone spaces, both synchronically and diachronically; to work individually or in group in a project; to research and to produce an academic essay according to the rules of this disciplinary area.
In this course, students will contact with Francophone Cultures through the presentation of general topics. The course presents the framework and several questions that include these cultures’ plurality and variety in time, space and reference values. In each course / year, the syllabus will be adapted to students needs and preferences, as well as to the teacher’s specialisation. Any subárea of the Francophonie /European, Canadian, from Maghreb or other) can be studied more in detail after a general presentation.
