Teaching Methods
It is important that in this curricular unit the lecture method, used for framework and elucidation, alternates with the use of pedagogical practices based on the work of the students. Thus, throughout this unit’s classes, besides the presentation of information, students will be encouraged to carry out assignments of literature review and/or research assignments; accomplish short assignments with regard to the subjects approached in classes; elaborate questions about the content taught in classes; write short overviews focusing on the themes approached in classes.
Learning Outcomes
In this curricular unit students should recognize the importance of lifelong training considering both personal and organizational advantages as well as the demands of contemporary society. Thus, students should achieve the following learning outcomes:
Identify the main reasons that justify the need for lifelong training in modern societies;
Understand the main ideas and perspectives that underlie the post-initial training;
Understand training as a strategy of knowledge;
Identify key aspects of the profile and functions of the trainer;
Envisage the characteristics of the main steps in the definition of training programs;
Master the fundamentals of training’s strategic planning;
Master the steps and methods of assessment of the organization of training.
