Learning Outcomes

The aim of this Curricular Unit is to present students with a global understanding of social sciences, highlighting the central place of Sociology. Thus, the analysis of the development of major theoretical approaches in Sociology will be given careful examination.

Some of the competencies that students should obtain are:

- Learning of basic concepts within the Social Sciences.

- Understanding the history and development of the major theoretical approaches in Sociology.

- Introduction to the analysis and debate of some theoretical transformations currently undergoing.

- Ability to critically reflect on social issues and society.
