Teaching Methods
Videos are used, practices and group discussions with review of practices, texts or other material, and exposition by the teacher. Emphasis is given to the presentation of clinical cases.
Learning Outcomes
Introducing Psychology students in the context of prescription and therapeutic use of psychotropic drugs, emphasizing the aspects of psychological profession.
Moreover, they should acquire the necessary knowledge about the different types of drugs and drug groups used in the handling of psychological disorders, its complexity of action, therapeutic indications, psychological mechanisms associated with its action, adverse reactions, and other hangover symptoms, of potentially interest in the practice of psychology. The contents of this course are reported in the context of an integrated psychological model. It uses a model-based psychopharmacology drugs (Moncrieff & Cohen, 2005).
