SPECIALIZATION COURSE IN WOMEN’S DISEASE PREVENTION AND HEALTH PROMOTION

General Objectives of the Course

The course aims to promote the acquisition of knowledge and more extensive and
in-depth skills in women's health, in particular with regard to the prevention of the most frequent female diseases and the promotion of physical and mental health. Prepare diverse training professionals to work correctly, in an inclusive way and articulate on women's health, considering women as a global being, physical
and psychic, and knowing how to integrate these interventions in the social, cultural, religious, familiar and professional environment. Interpret and meet the physical and mental peculiarities of the various stages of a woman's life from adolescence through the childbearing age and pregnancy, up to menopause and the elderly woman.
These skills should include the physiological environment of the various hormonal stages and promote the early recognition and appropriate management and treatment of various pathological conditions or seriously interfering with the women’s quality of life. The multidisciplinary training in promoting the health and wellbeing of women in several critical situations will also be object of this course.

Admission Requirements

Bachelor/Integrated Master in Medicine or Dentistry, Pychology, Nursing, Health Technologies.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

To meet the particularities and specificities of the different physiological stages of women’s life and to know how to distinguish pathological conditions. Integrate the screening strategies of physical and mental diseases, diagnose most serious and limiting diseases at an early stage and meet the main treatment strategies. Identify the situations that require promotion of well-being and physical and mental health. Identify healthier lifestyles according to several variables. Contact with new forms
and less conventional ways of promoting women's health.
