General Objectives of the Course

This course provides a continuation to the study of Spanish as a foreign language at level B1 (CEFR).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Successful course completion supposes the realization of all the proposed activities; the evaluation is expressed in a final grade on a scale of 0-20 points. Minimal pass grade is 10 points. Continuous assessment:It includes work done in class, active involvement, oral and written assessment on specific topics, final written test and oral presentation of a book chosen by the student among the options provided by the teacher.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Understand instructions and explanations, in a formal and informal register, whether spoken or written, with a higher degree of complexity. Being able to defend an opinion with coherent and compelling arguments.
Linguistic correction: recognize mistakes and being able to self-correction.
Spoken fluency and correct pronunciation without the influence of Portuguese.
Writing in an appropriate register.
Capacity of self-correction.
Ability to use specific vocabulary.

Graduation Requirements

As a rule, continuous assessment is the preferential regime to assess our students’ knowledge which requires 75% attendance and completion of two assessment tests. Other elements such as class participation, homework and tasks performed throughout the course, are also taken into account for evaluation. At the end of each level, students can request the corresponding certificate, if the course has been successfully completed.
