Applied statistics with SPSS

General Objectives of the Course

It is well recognized nowadays the importance of Statistics as an indispensable tool for obtaining and spreading information. Obviously, its importance has been enhanced by the use of computational resources and particularly the software SPSS, that showed, during the last decades, to be an effective tool for treating and analyzing statistical data.
In this context and in order to meet several requests that have been addressed by researchers and qualified professionals from various sectors, the Department of Mathematics of FCTUC offers regularly, since 2008, training courses on Applied Statistics, supported by SPSS. Thus, the present proposal is part of the set of activities already carried out by this institution in the field of training and aims to update and complement the knowledge of potential students in this area, preparing them to perform current statistical analysis.

Admission Requirements

The course can be attended by researchers, teachers and students of higher education in any field of knowledge and qualified professionals. The admission of candidates with other background may be accepted upon curricular analysis.
The necessary documents for applying are the registration form and the presentation of the Curriculum Vitae.
