General Objectives of the Course
This course is intended for those who wish to develop their Italian proficiency in order to be able to communicate at an elementary level.Admission Requirements

Continuous evaluation.Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
Students will develop skills in comprehension, production and linguistic interaction in Italian consistent with a beginner’s level, corresponding to A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. According to the self-assessment grid of European level:Listening: I can understand phrases and the highest frequency vocabulary related to areas of most immediate personal relevance (e.g. very Basic personal and family information, shopping, local area, employment). I can catch the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements
Reading: I can read very short, simple texts. I can find specific, predictable information in simple everyday material such as advertisements, prospects, menus and timetables and I can understand simple short personal letters.
Spoken interaction: I can communicate in simple routine tasks requiring a simple and direct Exchange of information on familiar topics and activities. I can handle very short social exchanges; even though I can’t usualy understand enough to keep the conversation going myself
Spoken production: I can use a series of phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms my family and other people, living conditions, my education background, and my present or most recent Job.
Writing: I can write short simple notes and messages. I can write a very simple personal letter, for example thanking someone for something.

As a rule, continuous assessment is the preferential regime to assess our students’ knowledge which requires 75% attendance and completion of two assessment tests. Other elements such as class participation, homework and tasks performed throughout the course, are also taken into account for evaluation. At the end of each level, students can request the corresponding certificate, if the course has been successfully completed.
