• Understand the need of air pollution control in industry and social context in order to ensure the protection of the human health and environment;
• Recognize the importance of monitoring air quality and know quantify emissions of pollutants through emission factors;
• Learn to apply and compare emissions with the legal limits;
• Learn to evaluate the effect of meteorological conditions on the dispersion of pollutants;
• Given a particular problem, students should be able to select and size equipments currently used in the industrial pollution control.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The qualification is framed by the regulation n.º 339/2012, of 7 August (Official Gazette, 2nd series).

Graduation Requirements

The course is organized into 4 modules and with an overall duration of 60 hours (2 ECTS credits).
