Teaching Methods
The students will make oral presentations on the texts they read and relate those texts to their teaching experience. Before each presentation, the students will hand in written notes or texts. The presentations will be followed by discussion in the seminar. The seminar sessions on complementary topics will be based on expository presentation by the teacher and the study of practical examples or other tasks by students.
Learning Outcomes
This seminar aims to enable students to
1. Deepen methodological, deontological and empirical knowledge in Portuguese-language teaching and didactics;
2. Develop the ability for self-reflection on their teaching practices and results, in oder to improve teaching performance;
3. Master scientific and didactic sources relevant both for the final MA report and to teaching practice;
4. Apply academic writing codes;
5. Apply coherent argumentation strategies, based on pedagogical and didactic principles and on practical and appropriately documented examples;
6. Conclude the first draft of the MA report, with particular focus on the specific research topic and didactic strategies and on the self reflection on teaching practice.

2. Topics for final MA reports (scientific and didactic topics chosen by the students).
3. Data collection methods in educational research; identify research shortcomings and the actions necessary to address them.
