Teaching Methods

The teaching is provided in theoretical sessions. These sessions are expository and include the presentation of examples applying the methods introduced with use of statistical software (R, SPSS,…).

Learning Outcomes

The aim of this course is to give to the student the basic skills that may be expected for any scientist in the use of statistics, like: the ability of dealing with statistical methods for collecting, organizing and describing data and  the ability to use parametric and non-parametric methods of statistical inference for drawing conclusions from properly produced data.

This unit allows developing the following instrumental skills: analysis and synthesis, problem solving and decision-making capacity. On a personal level enables the development of critical thinking, work in interdisciplinary teams, autonomous learning, adaptability to new situations and application of theoretical knowledge.
