Teaching Methods

The classes will be divided into modules, always encouraging active participation based on case studies that result in a structured understanding of knowledge and practices, as well as a clear grasp of the principles associated with quality journalism. Production tools will be introduced in practical classes with group assignments. Students will be challenged to create and produce news and long formats in one of the possible formats (written, audio, audiovisual, or multimedia), applying the knowledge gained in practice and reinforcing it through the production, editing, and distribution of content.

Learning Outcomes

The course unit designed as a laboratory and modular experience. It aims to provide students with an opportunity to engage with contemporary production practices in journalism, with a focus on specialized journalism in international and cultural issues. By the end of the course, students will be expected to:

- identify trends and practices in contemporary journalistic production in terms of writing, audio, audiovisual and multimedia platforms;

- identify and use narrative techniques and processes appropriate to the specific context of each media platform;

- understand the different implications resulting from the use of different platforms;
