Teaching Methods

Teaching methods are based on interactive theory classes, with detailed analysis of the topics, supported by audiovisual means, and taking advantage Use Cases and discussion/analysis of concrete situations. Practical classes will allow students to perform practical assignments focused on the design, configuration and administration of several representative services.

Learning Outcomes

The mobility of users and networks is a feature that is increasingly present in today's communication networks. At the same time, there is a growing trend towards the use of low-cost wireless devices, which make it possible to sensor, monitor and act on their surroundings, as well as control environments and processes more precisely and efficiently.
This course aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge about mobile networks and the Internet of Things. Architectures, protocols,
technologies and applications will be covered, giving the student an in-depth knowledge of this subject. A student who successfully completes this course should know and understand the operation of existing communication technologies and protocols in mobile networks and the Internet of Things, and be able to critically assess their suitability for various scenarios, ranging from home networks to industrial environments with high requirements.
