Teaching Methods
The teaching methodology is based on two types of complementary activities, correlated in terms of timing and program content: theoretical classes with exposition of concepts and fundamentals, complemented with real examples, following an interactive model that encourages critical analysis and reasoning; practical laboratory classes for carrying out practical work, using modeling and measurement tools.
Learning Outcomes
The main objective of the course is the study of methodologies for assessing the performance of communication networks and services. The aim is for students to understand the principles and concepts of network and service performance assessment, acquire knowledge in techniques for modeling, measurement, analysis, and optimization of performance, and develop skills to identify performance issues and optimization opportunities. Students should acquire the ability to make decisions in the selection and use of methodologies for modeling and assessing the performance of communication networks and services, justifying the options taken. They should also develop the ability to present, justify, and discuss the results of the performance evaluation process.
