Learning Outcomes
Building on the knowledge and skills acquired in the courses of Japanese Language and Culture
I to V, this course enables students to understand and express utterances related to the main issues, when clear and standardized language is used, and familiar topics such as personal information, family, shopping, local geography, studies, work, among others. Students will develop essential communication skills related to personal and family interests such as describing experiences, dreams, hopes and ambitions as well as briefly stating reasons and justifications for an opinion or a project.

Grammar topics include particles, adjectives, adverbs and adverbial expressions, verbs and their broader conjugation forms such as nakerebanarimasen verbs in the obligatory mood, and Te and Ba verbs in the conditional mood, among others.
Students will be introduced to advanced Kanji characters and continue to write in a combination of Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana. They will also be able to read and reply to email messages from friends, and read website articles.
They will also be able to write compositions with a wider vocabulary and more complex sentences and explain about activities in everyday life, life from birth to death of a person, messages on social networks.
Japanese Culture: continuation of Japanese Language and Culture VI. Based on the Marugoto manual, through message exchanges, we will analyze traditional Japanese culture such as apologizing and expressing feelings, and through articles on the website, the environment in which they live, comparing towns and villages.

Ao longo do curso serão apresentados revistas e jornais japoneses em formato digital e outros materiais didáticos, como vídeos, notícias e sites sobre a Cultura Japonesa (com o apoio da Embaixada do Japão e da Fundação Japão).
Throughout the course there will be presented Japanese magazines and newspapers in digital format and other didactic materials, such as videos, news and websites about Japanese Culture (with the support of the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation).
