Teaching Methods

Classes will be expository and dialogued, including the projection of film excerpts and full-length films and moments of discussion that enable the sustained participation of students. Some classes will have a more practical character, of analysis and study of films and follow-up of the students’ research work.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the semester, the student should be able: (1) to understand the aesthetic diversity of the art of cinema throughout its history, as well as the original social and cultural contexts of its works; (2) to critically reference the theoretical writings that accompanied its artistic practices; (3) to study and frame films and groups of film in their original historical-artistic context, but also in lineages that go beyond this context, in an independent manner.
