Teaching Methods

Theoretical teaching involves expository, demonstrative methods and case -type discussion.

Learning Outcomes

- Have comprehensive knowledge of the periodontal-systemic relationships.

- Have detailed knowledge of the biological plausibility of the association between the pathophysiological mechanisms of periodontitis and the different systemic pathologies that share comorbidity.

- Have detailed knowledge of epidemiological evidence and interventional studies on the association between periodontitis and systemic diseases.

- Be familiar with the perspective of specialists from different medical areas: endocrinology, cardiology, gynecology, urology, neurology, oncology, rheumatology, dermatology.

- Have comprehensive knowledge of all possible interactions between oral and systemic diseases and be competent to manage the periodontal problems of the medically compromised patient.

- Be proficient in sharing information and professional knowledge with both the patient and other professionals and specialists in other medical disciplines, verbally and in writing.
