Learning Outcomes
Curriculum Unit Objectives:
• Understand the causes of gingival recessions
• Classify gingival recessions
• Master the technique of modified coronally advanced flap surgery
• Develop advanced skills in performing modified coronally advanced tunnel flap surgery
• Conduct practical exercises for the harvesting of soft tissue autografts
• Execute surgical techniques for root coverage in animal models.
Competencies to Develop:
• Apply theoretical knowledge in the identification and treatment of gingival recessions
• Acquire practical skills in the execution of surgical techniques based on scientific evidence
• Achieve proficiency in the execution of the Modified Coronally Advanced Flap technique and modified coronally advanced tunnel flap technique
• Develop versatility in the application of the tunneling technique for various clinical scenarios
• Transfer theoretical skills to practice through exercises in animal models, consolidating the learning.
