Recommended Prerequisites
The pre-requisites of this course are those corresponding to the application for the MSc course in Engineering of CMM.
Teaching Methods
Lectures (30 hours) with detailed exposition, using visual aids, concepts, principles and theories and to solve some practical exercises that meet all the needs of students with guidelines on the matter. Occasionally students are invited to attend lectures by visiting specialists. Tutorial lessons (37.5 hours) will be to answer questions.
Learning Outcomes
Revision of basic concepts of concrete structures. In relation to practical cases of reinforced concrete structures it is intended that students can improve their skills in order to identify the structural system and the actions acting on these structures. It is also intended that they can make the design and analysis of specific elements, namely, slabs, columns, foundations and support walls.

2. Reinforced concrete slabs. Slabs with beams and flat slabs. Punching. Hillerborg method. Design and constructive provisions.
3. Reinforced concrete columns. Columns under composite bending. Behaviour of slender elements. Second order effects. Ultimate Limit State of Buckling. Frame structures. Deviated Bending. Design of columns and constructive provisions.
4. Foundations of reinforced concrete structures.
