Mastery of basic research methods in the leading scientific disciplines of performance physiology and sports immunology with reference to (functional) diagnostics, health behavior, training processes and performance development; ability to transfer diagnostic research methods to scientific, preventive as well as clinical issues; mastery of the statistical evaluation and clinical assessment of physiological measurement data from various repeated measurement designs with physiological and sports medicine data such as spiroergometry, cardiovascular function assessment, metabolism and immunological laboratory analyses.

Methods of sports medicine functional diagnostics and their application in preventive, therapeutic, rehabilitative and health promotion contexts with reference to physical activity and inactivity; assessment of health-oriented and performance diagnostic findings taking into account developmental biology and gerontological perspectives as well as pediatric and geriatric target groups with the aim of health counseling and therapy design with special reference to physical performance, fitness and activity; Applied scientific data analysis of physiological data from sports medicine performance and function diagnostics, especially analyses from controlled repeated measures designs with dependent and independent variables; differentiation according to descriptiveness and prescriptiveness, statistical significance and clinical relevance.
