Teaching Methods

The classes will take place in the classroom. Expositive component, as well as analysis and discussion of texts and materials previously provided, some of which will be presented by the students.

Learning Outcomes

The course aims to introduce the key methodologies and techniques that can be used to organise, explore, and analyse different types of cultural contents included in texts. At the end of the course, students will be able to carry out a critical analysis of the key concepts of Digital Humanities; use a set of Digital Humanities tools; create new ways to visualise data and metadata; explore and analyse text corpora; carry out linguistic analysis automatically; create and analyse networks.

Syllabus

The course will be based on the presentation of theoretical concepts, an overview of the projects in the field of Digital Humanities, and practical activities. In particular, it will include an introduction to Digital Humanities; an introduction to automatic language processing; an introduction to Network Analysis.
