Teaching Methods
Online theoretical lectures, with pratical online and offline joint sessions and individual tutorials, including the autonomous development of tasks and one final videocast or podcast project on a given topic of interest.
Learning Outcomes
Students will
a. acquire and understand knowledge that provides opportunities to be original in the development and/or application of ideas, when researching discourses on and in Europe
b. apply and develop problem-solving skills in unfamiliar environments within multidisciplinary contexts related to linguistics, culture and society
c. integrate and deal with complex critical judgements based on limited information, especially those associated with social and ethical responsibilities
d. communicate findings and underlying knowledges and rationales in clear ways; develop autonomous learning skills
e. locate and manage specialised bibliographic online and offline sources on Europe and its discourses
f. develop advanced knowledge of discourse analytical approaches and critical interpretation of texts, events and practices in Europe
g. apply scientific methodologies to the linguistic and cultural study of European societies.
