Recommended Prerequisites

Students must have completed a number of curricular unities totaling 60 ECTS

Teaching Methods

(1) Teaching methods: prior elaboration of the work plan, discussion of the approach and work development in regular meetings of the students with the respective supervisors.

 

(2) Evaluation methods: public defense of the internship report by a jury composed of a minimum of three professors.

Learning Outcomes

Provide students with contact with the professional activity of Geological and Mining Engineering, and to promote the skills to develop, present and discuss an high-level work, which includes a bibliographic research and a practical component related to the internship subject, in a Geological and Mining Engineering domain. It may arise as a result of the need to respond to practical problems with which the student is faced in the scope of his professional activity.

Skills to be developed: Ability to manage, organize and plan the information; Capacity for analysis, synthesis and critical reasoning; Ability to solve problems and present solutions; Communication capacity; Ability to investigate; Autonomous learning and oral and written communication skills; Capacity for initiative and entrepreneurship. Ability to adapt to new situations

Syllabus

Dependent on the internship subject. Typically the selection of a Internship will result from the need to respond to practical problems that the student encounters in a professional environment. Supervision of the Project work will always be the responsibility of a DCT-FCTUC professor or researcher. There may be another external advisor, and you should be a doctorate or merit project specialist recognized as such by the Scientific Committee-DCT based on your curriculum analysis.
