Teaching Methods

Lecture method associated with the use of pedagogical practices that promote independent work of students and their active participation in the learning process, such as analyze and discussion of texts and conducting group work.

Learning Outcomes

The aim of this course is to promote reflection and critical analysis on strategic planning and administration and local management of education and training and to develop analysis and intervention skills taking into account the specificity of local contexts.

At the end of this course students should be able to:

- Understand basic concepts and theoretical perspectives of administration and management of education.

- Distinguish types and models of Public Administration.

- Understand the recent development of local education administration

- Identify municipal activities and competences in the educational domain

- Critically and theoretically analyze the changes in the local administration and management of education

- Identify the phases and devices of strategic planning

- Participate in the elaboration of strategic educational projects.
