1. Tutorial monitoring in the development of research skills;

2. Supervised participation in ongoing research projects;

Learning Outcomes

The main goal of this course unit is to equip students with practical research skills in different areas of psychological research, in a system of laboratory rotation. It is intended that students join ongoing research projects in the respective laboratory/research team of the R&D units, in order to be in contact with different methodologies, projects and research teams, therefore acquiring new theoretical and methodological knowledge in different research areas, and that follow the planning, implementation, analysis and dissemination of research outputs. This immersion in different research teams should be guided by principles of ethical integrity in research, and promote the development of integration and teamwork skills.

Syllabus

Learning centered on the understanding of the different research activities conducted in diverse labs or research teams, and monitoring of research projects. This learning, despite presenting specificities within each research team, specifically focuses on the following aspects: a) Training of technical skills in research planning; b) Supervised participation in ongoing research projects, for example in data collection of research projects, data storage and analysis; and c) Participation in the meetings of the research team.
