Recommended Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of English considering the international context of the curricular unit and as most technical references are in english.

Teaching Methods

Bibliographic search using several sources, namely data bases and digital libraries. Tutorial orientation.

Learning Outcomes

Bibliographic search about a topic in Plant Bodiversity or Plant Biotechnology, under the guidance of a supervisor. The chosen theme will constitute the basis of the Dissertation or Internship to be developed in the 2nd year. The student will give a presentation of this work and write a short monogaphy about the state of the art and the techniques, goals, working hypothesis and experimental design related to the subject of the Master Dissertation. This work will e presented to the students and professors of the course.

Syllabus

In this course students will have to submit a detailed written report on the thesis subject, including state of the art, goals, working hypotheses, experimental design and data obtained to date. They will have also to present the project to colleagues and professors of the course.
