Recommended Prerequisites

Proficiency Portuguese Language; general knowledge of Cultures and Literatures in Portuguese. 

Teaching Methods

- Inducing and structuring intervention of the teacher in classes of theoretical-practical nature (centered on the main programmatic lines) or practical classes (centered on the analysis of key texts and the consequent inferential dialogue). - Extension of the work carried out in the classroom through meetings during office hours and by email (suggestion of new topics, discussion of approaches, guidance on research and bibliography). - Individual research with subsequent time of dialogue between teacher and students.

Learning Outcomes

To identify the place in the western literary canon of the chosen author(s).

To assess the conditions of existence of the literary works studied.

To apply the ecdotic, periodological, genological, thematic, rhetorical and stylistic instruments that prove indispensable for an updated interactive relationship with literary creation.
