Teaching Methods
Classes with detailed exposition of the concepts and fundamental principles to Technical Drawing, namely the projection methods and the relevant international standards. Presentation of the principles of BIM and introduction to 3D modeling. Resolution of exercises followed by individual application by students using computational tools. Assessment through final exam (60%) and individual work (40%).
Learning Outcomes
To understand the fundamental concepts of BIM, advantages and uses.
To know how to implement BIM in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry including the limitations and potentialities, standardization and technology of nowadays market.
To understand the concept of interoperation and formats and protocols that allow interoperability.
To acquire the skill to apply BIM tools in the context of design and execution.
Acquisition of basic knowledge about Technical Drawing as the privileged communication language in the AEC industry with emphasis in timber construction, namely: (i) development of the ability to represent structures and details using standard projection methods, (ii) development of ability to produce and interpret Technical Drawings according to current relevant standards.
