Technical and scientific knowledge dependent on the subject to be addressed. English proficiency required for searching the literature and writing.
Teaching Methods
The interim supervisor (originally appointed to this course only) guides the student in defining objectives and methods, and monitors the planning of the thesis. The resulting summary document is defended by the applicant in a public examination before a jury of teachers and / or researchers, experts in the field.
Learning Outcomes
According to "Regulamento de Doutoramentos da FCTUC" the purpose of this curricular unit is to defend before a panel a plan for the thesis work, thus assessing its opportunity and practicability.
