Teaching Methods

In theoretical classes, interrogative and expository methods are used, in order to actively encourage student participation in discussions on the topics covered. Reputed experts are invited to some classes. Theoretical-practical classes are based on active models. In seminars, students present and discuss their work. Peers perform the critical evaluation of the works.

Learning Outcomes

This curricular unit aims to provide students with knowledge about the state of the art of Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine in the field of Dentistry. With this objective, topics such as that will allow students to:

- Define biomaterials and their interest in Regenerative Dentistry

- Know the mechanisms of cell and tissue regeneration

- Apply experimental models of regeneration and understand the mechanisms involved in the regeneration of cells, tissues and organs

- Know the regulatory and ethical aspects associated as well as the most relevant applications in dental clinic.
