After attending this curricular unit, the students should have acquired the scientific and technical knowledge required for the understanding, design, modeling and application of perception and navigation systems in the framework of mobile robotics and autonomous vehicles.
Acquisition of skills, in research environment, such as analysis and synthesis, independent learning, and adaptability to new contexts.

Path-following and path-tracking control. Detection and tracking of objects and local navigation methods: sensors and techniques. Sensors and sensor fusion methods used in mobile robotics and autonomous vehicles. Navigation systems and localisation methods. Control and navigation architectures. Environment maps: grid-based maps and geometric maps; map building methods.
