Recommended Prerequisites

The student must have knowledge in the area of general and exercise physiology.

Teaching Methods

The teaching method is face-to-face in both theoretical and practical classes. In theoretical-practical classes, students are subject to practical situations where physical condition assessment tests are performed, and exercise prescriptions adjusted to the objectives defined for each individual. The evaluatios of students integrates the written test, research work and problem solving.

Learning Outcomes

It is intended that the student master a set of contents within the scope of the benefits of physical activity and its prescription principles. The student must be able to understand the basic principles of assessment and exercise prescription rules adapted to special populations, with physical sensory and intellectual disabilities. In this context, students should be able to optimize and individualize physical exercise, in order to obtain a better physical condition as well as higher health levels, thus contributing to a better protection from risk factors and an improvement in the quality of life.
