Recommended Prerequisites
Enrollment in a thesis is subject to the completion of the Thesis Project and presupposes enrollment in all curricular units that the student has not yet completed and that are necessary to complete the Doctoral Program.
Teaching Methods
The work will be developed in close collaboration with the supervisor(s) to advise the bibliography, discuss the guiding guidelines and monitor progress throughout the course. Early dissemination of results obtained through writing and submitting articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals or presentation at scientific conferences is strongly encouraged.
The doctoral test consists of the presentation and public discussion of the original thesis before a jury, with no additional evidence being given.
Learning Outcomes
Development of scientific research work leading to the elaboration of an original thesis in Electrotechnical Engineering and Intelligent Systems on the theme defined in the Thesis Project. It is intended that the student develops the skills and competences necessary to carry out autonomous research, and that they demonstrate these skills and competences through the preparation of a thesis with scientific contributions recognized by their peers.
The skills to be developed include knowledge relating to the scope of the study, as well as skills in analysis and synthesis, organization and planning, oral and written communication, decision-making and working in an international context, critical reasoning, autonomous learning, creativity, concern with quality, and self-criticism/self-assessment.
Work Placement(s)
NoSyllabus
The syllabus depends on the objectives and scientific area of the research work to be carried out, which will always have the ambition to solve engineering problems and advance the state of the art.
