Teaching Methods
Theoretical Classes: lectures with a strong component of dialogue and application in practical cases, essentially using the visual media ("data show"). Personal study and/or tutorial: read the recommended bibliography provided by professors; autonomous research is essential for better performance.
Learning Outcomes
To enable students with technical and scientific knowledge inherent to Phytotherapy, namely, to contribute to rational advice on medicines and herbal supplements in various pathologies, supported by efficacy and safety data. Thus, in addition to aspects of efficacy, possible side effects and drug interactions are also considered. In this context, several products marketed mainly in the form of "over the counter (OTCs)" for different pathologies will be addressed, providing knowledge about the benefits vs risks of the consumption of these products.
