Strength of Materials I e II, Applied Mechanics, Science and Engineering of Materials, Mechanical Behaviour of Materials, Introduction to Mechanical Design, Mechanical Elements.

Teaching Methods

Classes run under theoretical and theoretical-practical. In the lectures sets out the fundamental concepts in the form of lectures using transparencies and multimedia. The practical classes are primarily geared towards the achievement of project work of the mechanical system proposed by concrete statements related to the project total or partial mechanical systems. Consequently, much of the theoretical and practical work under tutorial, where the teacher follows up the work by clarifying doubts and general guidance of students.

Learning Outcomes

This course aim to give the student an overview of mechanical design, integrating and applying the concepts acquired in the different disciplines of the course and trying to give an overview of the problems of the future profession of engineer.

Syllabus

In the theoretical part of the discipline to teach the following topics: methods and phases of the project brief review of the various processes of ruin, criteria for the establishment of the safety factor, normalization, selection of surface finishes and tolerances in the adjustments between parts, geometric tolerances, interaction design, materials selection and manufacturing processes, EU directives and national standards on safety and health in the design and use of machinery, building codes, computer aided design (CAD / CAE).

In the theoretical-practical is carried out a project work of full or part-mechanical systems (eg, lifting and transportation equipment, road equipment, machine tools for metal working and wood, equipment for agriculture and forestry equipment special purposes, etc..), being suggested by some industry or other entities.
